  • Why Poverty and Unemployment Persist Despite Resources

Many experts believe that our country is blessed with abundant natural resources such as fertile land, clean water, minerals, forests, and a large young population. Despite having these advantages, the country is still facing serious challenges like unemployment and poverty. This situation raises an important question: why has the availability of resources not translated into better living conditions for many citizens?

One of the main issues is the lack of proper utilization of resources. While the country has plenty of water and agricultural potential, many regions still struggle with poor irrigation systems, outdated farming methods, and limited access to modern technology. As a result, farmers often face low productivity and unstable incomes, which contributes to rural poverty.

Another major factor is the growing unemployment rate among young people. Every year, millions of graduates enter the job market, but there are not enough opportunities available. Many industries are unable to absorb the increasing workforce due to slow economic growth, lack of investment, and limited industrial expansion. This gap between education and employment opportunities leaves many skilled youths without stable jobs.

Corruption, poor policy implementation, and lack of infrastructure also play a significant role in slowing economic progress. In many cases, government schemes designed to reduce poverty or generate employment do not reach the people who need them the most. Without transparency and effective governance, the benefits of development remain unevenly distributed.

Education and skill development are also key areas that need improvement. While literacy rates have improved over the years, many young people still lack the practical skills required by modern industries. This mismatch between education and market demand makes it harder for them to secure meaningful employment.

Economists suggest that better management of natural resources, investment in industries, improved education systems, and strong policies to encourage entrepreneurship could help reduce unemployment and poverty. If the country focuses on innovation, infrastructure, and job creation, it can turn its resources into real economic strength.

The country has immense potential. With the right policies, effective leadership, and collective effort, it can transform its natural wealth into opportunities that provide jobs, reduce poverty, and improve the overall quality of life for its people.
